Deep Sea Animation
The concept was to highlight the deep sea creatures’ obscurity by depicting them in darker colors and in a setting reminiscent of tanks in a laboratory. The illustrations were drawn in an abstract style to emphasize the unconventional appearances of these creatures while simplifying the process to adhere to a 30-minute creation rule. The animations were deliberately minimal to evoke a feeling of being “trapped” and eeriness, yet varied enough to demonstrate the individuality of each species.
Task: to create a series of illustrations and animations of deep sea creatures within a constrained time frame (30 minutes per 30 days) that highlighted their individual quirks and unique appearances.
